In this study I am tryng to understand work satisfaction as a basic element in determining the nurses quality of life. This way, I do a brief review of literature about quality of life, nursing and works satisfaction. Completing the study, I report an interview that quotidian was made with the nurse coordinators at University Hospital in Santa Maria, where some situations show evidence of job satisfaction and others of job insatisfaction. An analysis of the information, allows me to state that the nurses need to think carefully not only about quality of their clients lives, but also to reflect about quality of their own lives, considering that we can’t give what we don’t have.
