Abstract

Descriptive and exploratory study in order to settle the main and most common physical adaptation problems with women with angina, with basis in Roy’s Adaptation Model (1991). The study was developed with 24 women who were interned in a private hospital at Fortaleza – CE, from March to May, 1998. The instrument used for data collection was an evaluation of incentives and behaviors which included the components of the physiologic mode proposed by the theoretic model adopted. The reached results allowed to identify several adaptation problems and their respective focal, contextual and residual incentives. The application of the theoretical model was considered important and suitable to the work close to women with angina pectoris.
