Abstract

Is there a Kantian love? Is there a place for love in this philosopher who is considered a formal moralist? Yes, I consider that Kant analyzes love in many works, and that love has several meanings. In this paper, I will analyze this multiple use of the term love by Kant. I begin by self-love and practical love, showing that they have a relation with morality. Then I go to the anthropological modalities of love, as affect and passion. At the end, I analyze the conception of sex in Kant, showing that it is different from love.
