Résumé

O presente artigo pretende analisar de forma sucinta os aspectos históricos e sociais que influenciaram na origem da chamada sociedade secreta Ku Klux Klan, que instaurava e de certa forma, ainda instaura, o medo nos Estados Unidos da América, através de discursos dicotômicos e de discriminação racial. A metodologia utilizada foi o levantamento bibliográfico acerca do tema e visando compreender as influências acerca do discurso propiciado por essa organização, foram eleitos os aportes teóricos de Jean Delumeau (1990) e Carl Von Clausewitz (1996).
