Abstract

The aim of this article is to think how gender and sexuality in theRoman world can express debates on historical knowledge and produce new interpretation of the past. I point out how the search for the comprehension of seated relations between the male and female universes, and also the relations with themselves bodies, desires and feelings, permit a knowledge of the heterogenic, diverse and complexity that involved the social and historical Roman relations. Besides I shall rethink how those points are relative in our own time.
