Abstract

This article assesses the social place of greek and latin classics inearly twentieth France, when these subjetcs were at the core of a fast and controversial educational reform. It will be emphasized the last phase of Marcel Proust’s literary and critic production (speciallyContre Sainte-Beuve and À la Recherche du Temps Perdu).
