Abstract

O estudo teve por objetivo avaliar o comportamento morfométrico das árvores de ipê-amarelo (Handroanthus serratifolius (Vahl) S.O. Grose) regeneradas naturalmente em pastagem artificial. Em um piquete de pastagem com área de 15 ha foi feita a coleta dos dados dendrométricos de 45 árvores de H. serratifolius, sendo: diâmetro a 1,3 m de altura do solo (DAP), altura total (HT), comprimento e diâmetro da copa. A partir desses dados foram estimados os seguintes parâmetros morfométricos das árvores: área de projeção de copa (APC); proporção de copa (PC); formal de copa (FC); grau de esbeltez (GE); índice de abrangência (IA) e índice de saliência (IS). Os dados foram submetidos à análise estatística descritiva, calculando as medidas de posição e dispersão, além do teste de normalidade de Shapiro-Wilk (p > 5%). Houve o domínio de indivíduos com DAP 20 ≥ 30 cm (55,5%), HT 10 ≥ 15 m (71,1%), APC ≤ 100 m2 (60,0%), PC ≥ 70% (84,4%), FC ≤ 1 (53,3%); GE ≤ 0,50 (75,5%), IA ≤ 0,80 (69,6%) e IS ≤ 31 (67,4% das árvores). A disponibilidade de espaço de crescimento favoreceu o desenvolvimento equilibrado da copa e o diâmetro do tronco, proporcionando estabilidade às árvores.
