In the Peruvian context, the increase in athletes who combine their sports careers with higher studies has generated the need to investigate and understand the factors involved in this process. This article uses a descriptive methodology with a documentary approach to address the challenges and factors involved in the dual career of Peruvian athletes, including psychosocial, vocational, academic, sports and economic aspects. The importance of social support, academic flexibility, time management and psychological support is highlighted as key elements for success in the dual career. Furthermore, the lack of previous research in this area in the Peruvian context is pointed out and an integrative approach and greater psychological intervention are proposed to improve the well-being and performance of athletes pursuing higher education.
