On April 9, 2013, the Brazilian Federal Government announced Decree no. 7984 regulating the Pelé Law no. 9.615/1998. This new arrangement of sports policy and its possible consequences for school sports aroused our interest in developing this study. Thus, our aim was to analyze the regulation of Law no. 9.615/1998 (Pelé Law) established by Decree no. 7.984/2013, especially in regard to the sports school, identifying relationships developed in the sports field from that decree, as the theoretical Pierre Bourdieu. The qualitative study and the type of documents adopted three data sources: 1. Pelé Law no. 9.615/1998 2. Decree no. 7,984/2013, and 3. Interview available at the CBDE with Antonio Time (current president of CBDE). We identified four main points of change: 1. The understanding of sport education and school sport; 2. The form of practice of school sports; 3. National Sports System and 4. Resources and expenditures for school sports. Succinctly, the regulation of Pelé Law seems to represent the regularization of student competitions, reinforcing so skillful sport and spectacle in the background putting the educational aspects relating to the training of individuals who benefit from this political action.
